Movu is meant to be for everyone and for various functional challenges. Photographer Jeanette is bubbling with creativity, life, and determination. We think these are qualities we identify with. That is why we have entered into an ambassador partnership with Jeanette. We hope that her creative power and commitment to nature can reach even more people. In this article, you will get to know Jeanette a little better and how Movu helps her make everyday life work better.

Movu has truly changed my life
Can you tell a little about how you were before you got Movu?
Movu has truly changed my life. Before, I was dependent on a traditional walker, which often led to ugly looks and comments from people. I didn't know that adults could be so mean! It made it difficult for me to feel comfortable in everyday life, and the motivation to choose a walker when I went out was almost non-existent. I preferred to use an electric wheelchair.
But after I started using Movu, everything changed. Not only is it incredibly functional and easy to use, but it has also given me back my confidence. Now people ask about Movu and its features, instead of judging me for my mobility. People think Movu is cool.
My functional level varies a lot; some days I can walk a kilometer, while other days it might be 40 steps.
How does Movu help you with daily activity?
The motivation for daily activity is greater with Movu. I keep it in the hallway to be reminded to use it. My functional level varies a lot; some days I can walk a kilometer, while other days it might be 40 steps. On bad days, I also have quite a high risk of falling, and then the right support when I walk is indispensable.
One thing I experience is that it can be difficult to assess my own daily condition before I am in the middle of an activity. That is one of the reasons why it is so important to push myself a little. And when I feel secure, it is easier to find both motivation and strength to step out the door. For example: when I take out the trash or check the mailbox, I try to challenge myself to go an extra round. If I get tired, I just sit down on the seat and consider: can I take a little more or should I turn back and go home?

Jeanette's 4 tips for everyday activity
- The Movu stands out as a reminder of activity.
- Dare to try! Test your condition with your body, not in your head.
- Take a detour, or an extra round in daily tasks if your condition allows it.
- Be generous with yourself! A little is always better than nothing.
I go where I want to go, not where I can go.
Are there places you can go with Movu where you couldn’t go before?
Yes, actually! The woods!
I am an artist and love nature photography. I haven’t been able to walk in the woods with a regular walker because of the wheels. It’s incredible to say it, but I have actually destroyed several ordinary walkers on trips in rough terrain.
With Movu, I walk well on uneven paths, in grass, and over small sticks. The combination of steering with the handle and the large front wheel makes it easier to steer clear of obstacles. I also trust Movu, and that does something for my confidence when I’m out on a walk.

Create new memories,
Be where life happens!
Do you have an experience you want to share with us after you got Movu?
Yes, I have walked with my dog, Nalle! I had had Nalle for 9 years when I had a stroke. Then he became afraid of me. His security disappeared when I became so unsteady. Fortunately, I could rehome him with some friends.
In May 2024, I got Movu, and one of the first things I did was take a little walk with Nalle in the woods. Nalle's favorite spot.
It was the first time he wasn’t afraid of me, and I believe it’s about the stability I have with Movu. It was an incredible day that meant a lot to me, where we created memories for life.

Use your energy on something positive
What is the best thing about Movu?
All the energy I previously used to motivate myself to go out with a traditional walker. To “tolerate” being different in the cityscape. I now use to create, be creative, and fill life with new memories. Now I’m not so afraid to stand out… But earlier, there was so much focus on the negative; with Movu, I feel proud.
Movu has given me my freedom back, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants an aid that provides dignity and freedom.

“I’m really proud to put my name on what I create🙌 Because I make my works straight from the heart🧡🩷 and even though it’s not my job anymore, I am endlessly happy to still be an artist. A disabled artist. Because remember this - you can’t choose the health you get.”
