Many experience significant changes in their daily lives when they can no longer drive or when they need a little support to walk independently. The transition can come suddenly or gradually, but it is perceived as uncomfortable for many. It doesn't have to be.
Increased mobility offers new opportunities
Movu is a Norwegian innovation, designed to provide a natural and upright walking position. Now you can still walk straight-backed, with a natural walking posture. Increased mobility offers great opportunities to enjoy small and large moments and fill everyday life with new memories. Feel the joy of fresh air, mastery, and independence – with Movu you can safely shop in the store, go to a café with friends, or move through forests and fields.
An innovative aid
The creators behind Movu consist of four experienced enthusiasts. The idea behind the invention arose when Øyvind's mother one day sold the car and could not find any good solutions for transportation in the local area. A traditional walker was out of the question for an active 83-year-old. Øyvind, who is an experienced serial entrepreneur, and his daughter, Trine, who is an experienced designer, agreed that it had to be possible to think completely differently.
In the summer of 2019, the team created the first simple models of Movu and the process was underway. Several models were built, and with the help of a 3D printer in the workshop in Hosle, Bærum, the first prototypes saw the light of day. Several health institutions assisted with good advice along the way. Ergo- and physiotherapists at Sunnaas Hospital were a particularly valuable sparring partner. With guidance from the country's leading centers of expertise, they have contributed to ensuring that Movu has the right dimensions, proportions, and functions to offer – a stable and innovative aid on three wheels.
